6" Calathea Peacock
Calathea Peacock (Calathea Makoyana, Cathedral Windows) has all the elegance and beauty of a Peacock’s tail, thus its glorious name. The leaves are pale green with a dark green feathered effect from the middle of the leaf to the outer edges. When new leaves emerge, they are rolled up and show off their pinkish-red undersides giving it another splash of color.
Light: Keep in well lit, bright area but out of direct sun.
Water: Keep the soil evenly moist. Do not allow the soil to dry out. A little water more frequently is a good method.
Humidity: Likes a moist environment with above average humidity. Stand on a pebble tray to improve humidity and mist frequently. Pop it in the shower for a while to give it an occasional boost. Lack of humidity can cause the leaves to become dry, brown and brittle.
Mature Size: 12-24". Calathea are fast growing in the right conditions.
